Leading the Future of Bestwork

Meet the dream team that is leading Bestwork into the next era of its 40-year history. There are some similarities in their experiences and interests, and there are unique perspectives and areas of expertise. Along with Jon Katz (President & CEO), Tom Black (Vice President of Sales & Business Development) and Jeff Papalia (Vice President of Textile Operations) have significant insight into Bestwork’s sister agencies in the AbilityOne® program due to their positions at National Industries for the Blind. With deep knowledge of what makes Bestwork’s productions tick, Ed Thomas’s shift to Director of Non-Textile Operations helps to usher growth in non-textile products and knowledge-based services. Greg Pereira’s promotion to Director of Finance & Accounting recognizes his long-time contribution to the strategic integration of finance and operations. Assuming the new position of Director of Public Policy & Government Affairs, Maurice Tyndell drives outreach and advocacy initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels. As Director of Communication & Marketing, Lauren Scarpa’s command at engaging the community, raising resources, and ensuring compelling messages to build Bestwork’s brand is the connective tissue of the Leadership Team.
On a personal note, Maurice and Jon are big football fans (though they will be wearing different colors on game days). Lauren, Jeff, and Greg often can be found outdoors snowboarding, golfing, or fencing respectively. When he’s not working, Tom will be spending time with his family, while Ed will be cooking up some good ol’ comfort food.
